About Sal
MY FAMILY
Born to Joseph and Mary Fiore and a sister, Sandy.
I was very fortunate to renew my parents' vows for their 60th anniversary (June 2007).
Married to Lynn since October 16, 1976, and have two wonderful children, Derek and Kristi, and a grandson, Antonio Salvatore & 2 Granddaughters, Theodora & Kai. I also claim to be a Yankees fan and hope that no one holds that against me, as I have three great furry friends: "Mo", "Bernie", and "Willie".
WHO I AM
Being involved in many activities has allowed me to network with many friends, some of whom I have been fortunate enough to marry over the years.
I began uniting couples in 1980, when I was involved with the town committee. Back then, you had to have a sponsor to become a Justice of the Peace. My sponsor was Representative Fred Gelsi of the House of Representatives. Back in the early years, I did only a handful each year. I worked in the data processing field for 20 years and then spent 20 years employed by Hallmark Cards. However, I did continue to unite couples, and through all of the years of working with couples, my love for this part of my life developed into a passion.
It is such a love and such a massive part of my life.
I am a lifelong Enfield resident, attended St. Adalbert's Elementary School in Enfield, The Big K, and Enfield High School. Attended Springfield Technical Community College, Asnuntuck Community College, and then Western New England College.
From 1997 to 2007. I was part of Gary Dineen & Lincoln Flagg's Junior Hockey Organization as The Voice of the Junior Coyotes, Springfield Junior Falcons, and Backup to the (AHL)Springfield Falcons.
Announced at many venues for the Thompsonville Little League, Enfield Girls Softball, Enrico Fermi Ice Hockey, Fermi Softball, Fermi Field Hockey, and Fermi Basketball Programs. I served as the Master of Ceremonies for the Felician Sisters' annual lawn festival for many years, as well as for fundraisers for the Enfield Police Benevolent Association and St. Adalbert's School.
I have a genuine love of music, which has led me to participate in college and community chorale groups vocally, as well as lead a band in my high school and college years. Additionally, I have been a leader of a classic rock band into the 2000s.
Another part of my life and loves has been in coaching. I began coaching with my girlfriend, Lynn (my wife), and her close friend Marion, coaching girls in the Enfield Petticoat Softball League. At the age of 18, I began an 11-year run as head coach with the Enfield Starrs midget football organization.
My son, Derek, was born, and I then shifted my energy to the Enfield Hockey Association, where I served as a board member and coach until my son entered high school. I was also a board member and head coach with the Thompsonville Little League, serving both my son and my daughter, Kristi.
I was also involved with my daughter Kristi's sports as a head coach & board member for the Enfield Girls Softball Association and as a head coach & board member of the Enfield Travel Softball Club. I was a co-founder and head coach in the North Central Girls Fastpitch Softball League. I also coached girls' softball and basketball until 2009, after both my son & daughter graduated from high school.
Former President of the Hallmark Bowling League from 2004 to 2014, and ended that season with an average of 200 and had my Career high game of 298.
I have thoroughly enjoyed coaching my grandson, Antonio, in baseball & basketball as he was growing up.
A great joy is watching Antonio grow up alongside our granddaughters, Theo (Theodora) & Kai. Additionally, we enjoy attending live musical concerts and sporting events, playing the guitar, bowling, listening to music, and engaging in home improvement projects. I also enjoy participating in fantasy baseball & fantasy football, and was a back-to-back champion in fantasy football two years ago.
